Implant Live Surgery Course in TIJUANA, MEXICO

This course is designed to teach general dentists simple, safe, and effective techniques for developing theirimplant surgery skills. It is a beginner-level course intended for dentists who have basic experience performing minor oralsurgery. Previous implant placement experience is not required. The course focuses on patient evaluation, case selection, treatment planning, surgical flap design,straightforward implant placement, hard- and soft-tissue management, suturing techniques, andpostoperative care. Participants will develop these skills through a combination of lectures, hands-on exercises, case reviews,and supervised surgeries on live patients in a clinical setting. The number and complexity of assigned cases may vary depending on patient availability, clinical suitability,and each participant’s experience and skill level. Specific cases and procedures cannot be guaranteed.
All course materials and clinical supplies are included. Participants who fulfill the attendance and courserequirements will receive 36 CE credits.

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

1. Evaluate anatomical considerations relevant to the surgical placement of dental implants.
2. Identify appropriate candidates for implant treatment.
3. Develop basic implant treatment plans based on clinical and radiographic findings.
4. Apply proper surgical protocols, including incision design, flap management, hard- and soft-tissuemanagement, and suturing techniques.
5. Apply appropriate patient-safety protocols related to anesthesia, surgical incisions, flap design, andpostoperative care.
6. Perform straightforward implant placement under the supervision of experienced faculty members.
7. Recognize common surgical complications and understand appropriate management protocols.
8. Improve their surgical skills in preparation for more advanced implant procedures.

Dr. Young Sam Kim is an internationally recognized clinician, educator, author, and broadcaster specializingin third molar extraction and dental implant surgery. He lectures internationally on safe, efficient, and minimally invasive techniques for third molar extractionand implant procedures. Dr. Kim has authored several influential clinical textbooks. His book, Extraction of Third Molars: Easy, Simple, Safe, Efficient, Minimally Invasive, and Atraumatic, was published in 2018 and has been translated into five languages. 
He has also published three implant-focused textbooks. His first implant textbook, ESSE Mastering Dental Implants, was published in 2021, translated into three languages, and is widely used as a clinical reference. His second book, Atlas of Implants, was published in January 2025, followed by Simple Immediate Implants in August 2025.
