Our LSC Introduction
FAQ
Is the Live Surgery Course conducted in English?
Yes, the primary mode of lecture and communication is in English. While Dr. Kim may occasionally use Korean during explanations, we have faculty and staff on-site who provide direct translations when needed. Many non-Korean-speaking participants have attended and provided excellent feedback regarding the course accessibility.
And you do not need advanced fluency in English. The course is designed to accommodate both Korean-speaking and non-Korean-speaking participants. We have taken steps to ensure that language barriers do not impede participation.
Most of the lectures and communication will be in English, and translation support is always available to ensure you can follow along without difficulty.
What is the difference between the Implant LSC and the Wisdom Tooth LSC?
Our goal is to provide hands-on experience with various cases to enhance your learning and surgical skills.
Implant LSC:
The primary focus is on implant placement, but participants may also practice wisdom tooth extraction as an optional component. In addition, advanced surgical procedures related to implants are available(ie. Sinus lift, CTG/FGG, Full edentulous case, All-on-X).
Wisdom Tooth LSC:
This course focuses entirely on third molar (wisdom tooth) extraction. You can elevate your clinical skills at a significantly lower cost. This is rare yet valuable opportunity that only comes a few times a year!
How many cases can I expect to complete during the IMPLANT LSC?
A constant flow of implant patients will be provided to each assigned chairs during the Implant live surgery course.
- Implant Placement: On average, participants place 10-20 implants, depending on available patient cases and individual skill level.
- Wisdom Tooth Extractions: Participants typically complete 8-10 extractions. Wisdom tooth extraction cases are not guaranteed.
Actual numbers may vary depending on case availability. Your time and efforts will be primarily dedicated to implant training, with wisdom tooth extraction being available as a secondary skill.
All live surgery participants were satisfied with their experience despite the number of implants placed. Participants left the course confidently knowing what an ideal implant placement should be and how to place them in ideal position and angulation.
We don't emphasize on the number of implants placed, rather, a proper placement of the implant. If the implant that was placed during live surgery course was considered sub-standard, an explant will be performed.
Only implants necessary for the patient's prosthesis will be placed and our main focus is to have a good implant placement and the quality that the patients deserve. Following our own set of standards, we can proudly say according to the restoring dentist, we had almost no implant failures.
For reference, the following is a table summarizing the number of implants for each participant in the 22nd Implant LSC.
Can I join for advanced sessions during the IMPLANT LSC?
The Implant Live Surgery Course focuses primarily on implant placement. However, advanced surgical procedures can also be practiced by experienced participants or returning attendees upon request.
Advanced Procedures Available:
- Sinus Lift
- Soft Tissue Grafting (CTG & FGG)
- Full Edentulous Cases
- Anterior Immediate Implant Placement
Availability of advanced procedures depends on patient cases and course structure. Participants interested in these procedures should communicate their preferences in advance.
How many extractions are typically performed during the WISDOM TOOTH LSC?
On average, participants will perform around 10~15 wisdom tooth extractions during the course. The course is designed to cover a balanced range of cases with varying levels of difficulty, and feedback from participants has been very positive. The surgeries are shared among participants, though participants may alternate chairs depending on availability.
Is there specialized mentorship provided during the WISDOM TOOTH LSC?
Yes, specialized mentorship is provided throughout the course. Experienced faculty members will guide you through the surgeries, ensuring you receive full support as you perform the extractions.
