This course is designed to teach the general dentist simple, safe and effective techniques to advance their knowledge of dental surgery procedures. It is intended for dentists with experience in basic oral surgery, but no prior implant placement experience is required. The course focuses on performing multiple live surgeries, including straightforward single-unit implant placements as well as third molar (wisdom tooth) extractions. 
Participants will develop their skills through a combination of lectures, hands-on exercises, and supervised live surgeries in a clinical setting. All course materials are included, and both lecture and participation credits will be awarded.

1. Evaluate anatomic considerations significant to the surgical placement of dental implants
2. Establish which patients meet the selection criteria for dental implants
3. Perform basic surgical protocol for implant dentistry (including flap design, soft/hard tissue management and suturing techniques) through hands-on practice
4. Design a plan for patient safety through proper knowledge of anesthesia, incisions, surgical flap design and suturing techniques
5. Differentiate and explain the proper use of various extraction instruments
6. Identify and execute safe extraction of multiple types of 3rd molar cases
7. Perform live surgery on patients under the supervision of an experienced Course Director
8. Improve surgical skills in preparation for the next level of implantology
