Dr. Youngsam Kim is a prominent instructor on wisdom tooth extraction and dental implant surgery. He is internationally known and travels all over the world providing lectures on safe and efficient methods of 3rd molar extraction and dental implants.  He is a published author of several books, including Extraction of Third Molars: Easy Simple Safe Efficient Minimally Invasive & Atraumatic, 2018, which has currently been published in five different languages. He is also author of ESSE mastering dental Implants, 2021.

This course is designed to teach the general dentist simple, safe and effective techniques to advance their knowledge of surgical extraction procedures. This particular course is unique as it focuses on third molar extraction. It is a beginner level course for general dentists who have no experience in third molar extraction surgery. However, it is also useful for dentists who have experience with third molar extraction surgery and have found it difficult.The focus of the course includes performing minimally invasive & atraumatic extraction of third molars. Participants will develop these skills through a combination of lecture, hands-on practice and completing multiple surgical extractions on live patients in a clinical setting. All course materials are included and lecture and participation credits will be awarded.

1. Design a plan for patient safety through proper knowledge of anesthesia, incisions, surgical flap design and suturing techniques.
2. Differentiate and explain the proper use of various extraction instruments.
3. Identify and execute safe extraction of multiple types of 3rd molar cases.
4. Perform live surgery on patients under the supervision of an experienced Course Director.
5. Improve surgical skills in preparation for the next level of third molar extraction.
