We have successfully come to an end of the 12th Live Surgery course in Mexico on January 28th-31st, 2022. We had 16 new exciting participants of whom are from USA(12), Canada(3), and Korea(1). This time we had a diverse pool of dentists, including an African American dentist from Texas. We welcome all backgrounds and ethnic backgrounds. So, dont be afriad to join! As a beginner friendly course, we provided an optional free pre-clinical hands-on training for handling implant kits and reviewed proper suture techniques on typodonts from 2PM to 11PM on Thursday in preparation for next day’s implant surgeries. With direct faculty supervision under 10 faculties including 1 oral surgeon and 2 periodontists, we placed a total of 152 implants and performed a variety of procedures, including single and multiple implants on the same quadrant, immediate implant placement, mini implants for replacing lower anterior teeth, guided bone regeneration, and wisdom teeth extractions.
We extracted a total of 33 wisdom teeth, and the participants were highly satisfied and surprised with their easy, simple, safe, and efficient extractions. Delicious food have been provided. All the participants really enjoyed authentic Mexican food and drinks. Amist busy schedule, eating delicious food was an important priority. Although the live surgery course proceeded during Covid times, all lectures and implant surgeries have been conducted safely.
